We're delighted that you're considering involving Llanvihangel Court in your wedding day and will do our best to help you with your plans, whenever you need it. When you have had a read through the information below do get in touch with Tom with any queries you may have or to arrange a visit:
We opened the house for wedding ceremonies and receptions in 2001 and have had the pleasure of working with many couples to create their ideal wedding day.

"We had the most wonderful day at Llanvihangel Court
and can't recommend it highly enough"
We are really flexible in terms of our approach to receptions and have helped to arrange all types of wedding, from shabby chic, to hay-bale seating and more traditional weddings.
We think it helps that three family members have been married at the house, so we also appreciate what it's like to arrange your own wedding at the house, as well as some of the challenges. |
The Ceremony
We hold marriage ceremonies in the Great Hall, a beautiful space with plaster ceilings and a huge fireplace. It's a lovely location for the ceremony as you feel at the centre of the building's history. It is possible to seat up to a hundred people at the ceremony. You have 3 hours for the ceremony and drinks reception.
You have the Great Hall for the ceremony and the adjacent panelled Morning Room for drinks reception (see below), as well as a beautiful panelled bedroom upstairs for the bride to prepare in beforehand.

The Reception
There have been many memorable receptions at the house, with people enjoying the opportunity to have a relaxing 2 hour reception in the Great Hall and Morning Room and then out into the gardens for drinks or dinner. Many couples choose to have a marquee whilst others have risked the weather and had open air receptions - with umbrellas at the ready. If you decide to have a marquee, then you can host 200 or more, depending on the marquee you choose.
For smaller wedding parties there is the option of having the reception in the Great Hall and adjoining rooms. This would would typically be up to 80 in the Great Hall, or 200 across adjacent rooms. If this is something you are interested in, we can discuss various layout options to see what might work.

We leave it up to you to arrange catering and a marquee and we do not charge any corkage. Again, you can always contact us for information, advice or even suggestions. This might include information on local suppliers, possible layouts for marquees and logistics for your guests, such as travel and accommodation.
Suppliers
We leave you the option of choosing your own companies when planning your wedding day and we don't charge corkage. Given our experience of working with many different marquee and catering companies, we are certainly able to make recommendations based on our knowledge of which providers offer the best service and product. Just contact us if you have any further queries about this.
Marquee Companies
We have worked with a few different marquee companies in the past but the one we are consistently impressed with are County Marquees. They create elegant marquees that provide a wonderful backdrop to your wedding day and space for your celebration (just check out the photos above to see what we mean). They know the grounds really well, so are incredibly efficient and able to advise you on what works.
